I notice only the first 150 were featured. Is it because it’s assumed that the generation that grew up with R/B/Y will be the only ones to afford and willingly spend on the app?

That’s my guess. Since it appears to have some very Ingress-esque elements to it that would be all but inaccessible to people under the age of 16, I think it’s safe to assume they’re targeting it much more towards those of us who grew up on the games.

I think it’s because Pokemon is finally trying to target us mid 20 something year olds that grew you with Kanto, and Red, Blue, Yellow. Which is awesome I think we’ve all been begging for something more than just an updated version of the old Gameboy games with new pokemon we don’t know anything about. I tried to play Y even bought a 3DS just for it, but didn’t even finish it because I got bored, it was to easy, to repetitive, too obviously made for 12 year olds.
Honestly this is a bit disappointing to me. I don’t want a MMO thing, I don’t have time to compete against other random people, or make friends via a video game. Also the real version won’t have 20 foot tall Gyarados holograms therefor wont be as cool as this video.
What I would like to see is a polished full fledged version of Pokemon Generations’ concept. Hell I’d even buy a damn Wii U if I had to.

What a heart-warming racially and gender diverse trailer.

Is anyone else a bit upset that they ae showing awesome 20 foot tall holograms instead of actual game play? I mean if they are actually going to invent some crazy Yu-gi-oh style hologram technology then sign me up, bit I kind of doubt that’s the case. Please show is actual game play, not things that will only happen in our dreams.

I’m 18 (turning 19) and I grew up starting with G/S. Even on their release I didn’t really know what I was doing. I think they really used the original 150 because they are the most recognizable.
